Security forces target LTTE cadres who set up a claymore mine - Vavuniya
The Security forces personnel on foot patrol duty fired targeting a group of LTTE terrorists who were setting up a claymore mine in Vavuniya last night, Tuesday the 10th of April.
The incident took place at Taranikulam in Nelukkulam, Vavuniya at 10:30 p.m. and the terrorists fled in the face of effective fire launched by the security forces, defence sources said.
In a subsequent search operation launched in the area, troops uncovered a 10Kg claymore mine, a fuse which had been left away by the terrorists.
