Four civilians killed in LTTE gun fire- Polonnaruwa

Four civilians whilst on a lorry transporting paddy stocks were rounded-up and brutally killed by alleged LTTE gunmen, at Nidanwala, 17 kilometers south off Aralaganwila general area, in the Polonnaruwa district today(05), at 09.30 a.m.

Three civilians were killed at the scene while another succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to the general Hospital at Aralaganwila.

The Aralaganwila Police reported that the civilian bodies were riddled with bullets fired by alleged LTTE gunmen. According to reports the terrorists has attempted to loot the lorry transporting paddy stocks along the Arunapura road, towards Aralaganwila.

The Police reported that the security forces are conducting search and clearing operations in the area.

Meanwhile, reports claimed that 27 civilians were killed by the LTTE terrorists in three separate incidents, since 01st of April, 2007.
