Advancing troops of the SL Army captured two more LTTE camps located south west of Narakamula, in Batticaloa district yesterday (July 09), military sources said.
Troops also found two 120mm heavy mortar guns abandoned by fleeing LTTE terrorists. The guns had been damaged by the terrorists before abandoning them, the military added.
Meanwhile, military spokesperson Brigadier Prasad Samarasinghe said military personnel are now consolidating defences in the newly liberated areas south west of Narakamula. A detailed media release on the latest developments on the ongoing humanitarian mission in Thoppigala would be issued shortly.
