LTTE terrorists explode claymore mine close to the Children's Park: 12 year old child injured - Jaffna

LTTE terrorists this evening (July 30) carried out a cowardly claymore attack at Gurunagar in Jaffna, injuring a 12 year old child who was passing by. Defence sources said that the bomb was exploded in front of the Children's Park at Gurunagar targeting a government vehicle that was attached to the Building Material Corporation around 3.40p.m.

The sources further said that the LTTE terrorists might have orchestrated this attack to terrorize the Jaffna civilians who have been extremely supportive to the security forces' counter terror operations in the peninsula. The LTTE leadership is believed to have infuriated by security forces regular findings of bombs and other weapons hidden at various locations in the peninsula with the help of civilian information.

The LTTE is a terror outfit fighting for a mono ethnic homeland for the Tamils living in Sri Lanka since 1983. During its two decade of terror the LTTE has been able to turn the whole Northern Province of the Island into a mono ethnic hellhole by ruthless ethnic cleansing raids that killed thousands of Muslims and Sinhalese. Despite its self assumed sole representative status among Tamil population the LTTE had killed a large number of Tamil intellectuals, religious and political leaders and many thousands of moderate Tamil civilians who had the courage to refuse its extreme racist ideologies. The LTTE is also in the international list of shame for forcing children to war. A Norway-based non-governmental organization, Norwegians Against Terrorism (NAT), recently called the outfit to be the "worst terrorist organization known to mankind" in its comprehensive report forwarded to the United States vice president Dick Chaney
