The LTTE terrorists launched an attack targeting the security forces personnel on route clearing duty at Salambakulam in Vavuniya this morning, Thursday the 22nd of March.
Defence source says that the Police personnel were attacked by the LTTE terrorists at 7.10 a.m today, whilst they were on duty along the Vavuniya - Mannar main road.
A Police personnel received minor injuries due to the incident.
Sources further said the LTTE terrorists fled in the face of effective retaliatory fire launched by the security forces personnel.
